Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on booking, recovery, costs and second opinions — no jargon, no guesswork.
How do I book an appointment with Dr. Khanna?
Message the clinic on WhatsApp at +91 89808 22922 with a brief description of your condition, and the team will confirm a consultation slot at Mahavir Hospital or BAPS Hospital.
What should I bring to my first consultation?
Bring any prior X-rays, MRI or CT scans, previous prescriptions or discharge summaries, and a list of current medications. If you don't have imaging yet, that's fine — it can be arranged after the initial examination.
How long does recovery take after knee or shoulder arthroscopy?
Recovery varies by procedure and individual healing. Many patients resume light daily activity within a few weeks, with full return to sport or strenuous activity taking longer and depending on structured physiotherapy. Exact timelines are discussed for your specific procedure.
Should I have ACL surgery or try physiotherapy first?
It depends on the tear, your activity level and goals. Some patients manage well with physiotherapy and activity modification; others, especially those wanting to return to pivoting sports or with persistent instability, are better served by reconstruction. This is assessed individually, not assumed.
Is surgery always needed for joint or sports injuries?
No. Many conditions are managed non-surgically with physiotherapy, activity modification, bracing or injections. Surgery is recommended only when it is genuinely the more appropriate option, and this is explained clearly before any decision.
How much does treatment or surgery cost?
Costs depend on the diagnosis, procedure and hospital, and are quoted transparently after consultation and examination. There is no fixed online price list because treatment plans are individualised.
Can I get a second opinion from Dr. Khanna?
Yes. Bring your existing reports, imaging and the treatment plan you've been given, and Dr. Khanna will review them and offer an independent opinion.
I live outside Surat — can I still be treated here?
Yes, patients travel from across South Gujarat and beyond. Message on WhatsApp in advance so imaging review and appointment timing can be planned around your travel.
Is limb lengthening offered by Dr. Khanna?
Limb lengthening is offered through Dr. Khanna's dedicated practice, Living Taller, which handles assessment, planning and the distraction process separately from the general orthopaedic clinic.
Which hospitals does Dr. Khanna operate at?
Daily OPD consultations are held at Mahavir Hospital, with additional consulting at BAPS Hospital. Trauma cases are managed at Akash and Prish hospitals.
What are the OPD timings?
